Dozens of ice cream makers pledged on Monday to remove artificial dyes from their products by 2028. The move is the latest voluntary effort by U.S. food manufacturers to heed calls from the Trump administration to remove synthetic dyes over potential health concerns.

Dozens of U.S. ice cream producers are planning to remove artificial colors from their products by 2028, the International Dairy Foods Association said on Monday.

About 90% of U.S. ice cream producers will eliminate artificial dyes within three years as part of a voluntary initiative. This involves around 40 companies and aims to address health concerns, with new natural alternatives approved by the FDA.
