Israel will delay Saturday’s expected release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners “until the release of the next hostages is guaranteed, and without the degrading ceremonies,” according to a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office.

In what was set to be the largest swap under January’s ceasefire agreement, six hostages were freed, but the release of some 600 Palestinian prisoners was delayed. It comes after Shiri Bibas’s body was returned by Hamas.

Civilians Hisham al-Sayed and Avera Mengistu had a history of mental illness, according to comments from their families and a 2017 report from Human Rights Watch.
