ST.PAUL — Minnesota DFL Chair Ken Martin announced on Tuesday, Nov. 19 that he will be running to be chair of the Democratic National Committee, which is expected to elect a leader in early 2025. In Martin’s announcement video , posted to his official campaign website Tuesday, he spoke directly to those he said may feel cast aside by Democrats.

Minnesota DFL Party Chair Ken Martin is running to lead the Democratic National Committee (DNC). In a video announcing his bid for the DNC's top job, Martin traced his support of Democratic principals to his childhood.

The chairman of Minnesota Democrats, he has longstanding connections to many of the Democratic National Committee members who will choose their next leader.
