Georgia man brought rifle to Atlanta airport after threatening to open fire on terminal, police say
Police say a phone call from the suspect's family and the hard work of officers may have stopped the man from taking dozens of lives.
Federal agents have taken over the custody of Billy Joe Cagle, the man accused of threatening a mass shooting at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
"I was internally panicking, like, 'Oh, hurry up, let's get this information out as you're getting it,'" a police sergeant said.
Officers at the Atlanta airport say they seized more than 160 pounds of ketamine from travelers in just two days.
Billy Joe Cagle was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after police said he threatened to “shoot up" the terminal. State and local police officers have swarmed the casino's Fox Tower.
