The Lehigh Valley won’t get a white Christmas, but residents should not have to wait long to see more snow as a winter storm could disrupt holiday travel plans.

PORTLAND (WGME) -- A pre-Christmas snowstorm continues to drop heavy snow around Maine on Wednesday. Heavy and some wet snow, especially at the coast, is piling up near major roads leading to difficult travel and power outages. Early snowfall reports as of 8:45am Wednesday show 17.0" in Freeport, 14" in Lisbon Falls, and 12" in Pownal.

Mostly sunny skies are forecast for Central Massachusetts on Wednesday, with a slight chance for snow flurries or a wintry mix in the morning. The National Weather Service predicts a high temp in the upper 30s and wind gusts up to 36 mph.
