Robert Downey Jr., Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and more were in their 40s when they started in the MCU. However, Chris Evans was 30 when Captain America: The First Avenger was released. Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth were in their 20s when they debuted as Black Widow and Thor. (Now, I’m starting to feel old.)

Loki creator Michael Waldron is still part of the screenwriting team behind Avengers: Doomsday. revealed Marvel's Kevin Feige.

"Following 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars, several key characters in the MCU will be recast, including Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, and the full team of X-Men," reported EW, citing the Variety interview with Feige. And this decision, Feige notes, is a long-standing tradition in big blockbuster franchises.

"As we as we kick off phase six with with 'Fantastic Four,' and as everybody knows it ends with 'Secret Wars,'" Feige said.

He goes from being the nerdy scientist who’s locked away in the lab, to the husband and the father who’d do anything to protect his family, to the guy who’s leading the Avengers.

Abrams' line of original Marvel comics continues with Chip Kidd and Michael Cho teaming up for an old-school Avengers tale.

The action adventure also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne and Sarah Niles. Fantastic Four: First Steps is produced by Kevin Feige and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis and Tim Lewis. The film will premiere in theatres on July 25, 2025, in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

With how well some recent MCU projects have been performing at the box office, Avengers: Doomsday will have a trickier time standing out.
