Emmaus High grad Wyatt Henseler was picked by the Washington Nationals in the ninth round of Monday’s MLB Draft. He was the No. 261 pick overall.

The 2025 MLB Draft is officially underway. The first three rounds of the draft took place on Sunday night, where the Washington Nationals kicked things off at No. 1 with the selection of Oklahoma high school shortstop Eli Willits. The surprises continued from there in a draft headlined by uncertainty about how the picks would fall.

The Los Angeles Angels shocked observers by taking UC Santa Barbara pitcher Tyler Bremner at No. 2 overall. The Seattle Mariners took LSU left-hander Kade Anderson, who helped his team win the 2025 College World Series, at No. 3 while the Colorado Rockies selected Ethan Holliday, son of former star outfielder Matt Holliday, at No. 4.
