Nissan Motor Co. warned of sizable losses ahead as the embattled carmaker pushes forward with its costly turnaround plan and grapples with the fallout of US President Donald Trump’s tariffs on car imports.

The Japanese carmaker is undertaking restructuring steps to turn around its business and reverse falling sales.

Nissan posted its first quarterly operating loss in more than four years on Wednesday as the embattled Japanese automaker took a hit from U.S. import tariffs and lower sales volumes.
