The Americans defeated Colombia 2-0 in the 2025 SheBelieves Cup on Thursday at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston. It was the first game for both sides of the 10th annual edition of the tournament, and Catarina Macario and Ally Sentnor found the back of the net for the team playing on its home soil.
HOUSTON—For Catarina Macario, the euphoria she felt makes the moment hard to remember. Seventeen-year-old Lily Yohannes had just floated the ball to fellow striker Yazmeen Ryan, who only needed a simple touch to put the ball exactly where Macario knew she needed to be.

The 25-year-old impressed in her well-rounded 64-minute comeback before being subbed off for Lynn Biyendolo. As Macario left the pitch, she shared an embrace with USA head coach Emma Hayes, who was previously head coach of Chelsea when Macario signed for the club in 2023.
