Dallas star guard Luka Doncic returned to the lineup in an NBA Cup game against the New Orleans Pelicans after missing the Mavericks’ previous game because of a right knee contusion.

On Tuesday evening, the Dallas Mavericks beat the New Orleans Pelicans (at home) by a score of 132-91. Luka Doncic returned to the starting lineup after missing the team's 121-119 victory over the OKC Thunder due to an injury.

"Dallas has now made it official and is listing Luka Doncic as out tonight in Oklahoma City with a right knee contusion," NBA insider Marc Stein wrote. "It will be the first game Doncic misses this season even though a calf injury cost him the entire preseason."

The Dallas Mavericks entered Tuesday night's game in the NBA Cup against the New Orleans Pelicans with two straight wins, and a good chance to make that three against a beaten and battered Pels team.

The Mavericks come back to the AAC after escaping a near-comeback by the Oklahoma City Thunder, albeit without Luka Doncic.
