Neil Druckmann, who co-created and directed the Naughty Dog video games for Sony Playstation and has been quite hands on throughout the first two seasons of the TV adaptation, will take a step back from the series creatively for Season 3, sources confirm to Deadline.

Neil Druckmann, the co-creator of The Last of Us, recently announced that he is leaving the series before any work on Season 3 starts. In his message through Naughty Dog, he revealed the reason behind his exit and what he would be working on next.

Although he helped build The Last of Us, he chose to step away before the ball got rolling on the third season, allowing him to focus on other projects, but also allowing the show's actual production to proceed unaffected due to his early departure between seasons.
