Wayback Wednesday: The Beach Boys perform its third U.S. number one hit “Good Vibrations” on the “Ed Sullivan Show” on Oct. 13, 1968. Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson’s mother was the source of the song’s inspiration. As a child, his mother told him that dogs could pick up “vibrations” from people, and that they would bark at people with “bad vibrations”.
