⚾️On August 16, 1987 the New York Mets beat the Chicago Cubs 23-10 in front of 32,731 fans at Wrigley Field. The 23 runs scored was the most in Mets history at the time. It was later surpassed on the same date in 2018 with a 24 run outburst in a win against the Philadelphia Phillies.
